Aisha Yusuf, awarded $750 for second place

Aisha credited George Mason University Toastmasters Club in order to learn and practice communication and leadership skills for her participation in this contest: Three-Minute Thesis competition helps students distill research into short, accessible pitches

GMUT Visited Entrepreneurship in the arts

Professor Patrick Sargent, invited GMU Toastmasters to his AVT 370 class on Wednesday, October 6.  It was the first time Toastmasters participated in an in-person meeting since moving the Zoom in March 2020.  Heather Aleknavage was Toastmaster of the Day, Rupa Mehta gave a speech about triumphing over the butterflies and pterodactyls, Ha Nguyen shared her thought of the day around the theme, Dancing with Life, and Philip Wilkerson was the Table Topics Master.  He succeeded in getting the students to participate which is always the goal of these demonstration meetings!  Erika Marquina led the group through the evaluation portion of the meeting, and Raji Jyothi was our timer.  Here are some photos compliments of Professor Sargent …
